Navigator
i-education were engaged as ‘value added’ developers to create a new teaching and learning tool ‘Navigator.’
Navigator is a joint product between Core Education & Consulting and Edison Learning.
Navigator helps to make Assessment for Learning a reality in secondary schools by translating assessment data expressed in dry ‘educational speak’ into attractive and accessible profiles of achievement that enable students and parents to explore strengths and weaknesses and identify specific next steps in learning, at anytime and in anyplace.
Navigator incorporates EdisonLearning’s meticulous breakdown of Student Friendly Learning Descriptors across core subjects and Core Learning Skills (personal, social and thinking competencies that lay the foundations for success in later life). These enable students and parents to focus on the most critical skills to improve their performance and capture them in a personal plan. Using Navigator creates powerful learning conversations that use language that everyone understands to guide every member of the school community to where best to invest their effort to bring about improvement, providing the school with a powerful tool to boost attainment.
The site is currently under development for completition July 2010
